Abstract
Ductile cast iron is considered to be a recent member of the cast irons family.Because of the high cost that spent in producing ferritic ductile iron using heat treatmentwith long period of time. This work presents a brief picture to assess railway shoulder madefrom ferritic ductile iron in the as-cast condition without any post heat treatment. Themanufacturing is achieved using RF induction furnace with the aid of instantaneouschemical analysis using optical emission spectrometer (OES) to control the chemicalcomposition of the ferritic ductile iron. The results showed that the produced ferritic ductileiron has properties satisfy the required application.
