| Abstract | ||
| The research aims to study how Britain exploited the difficult conditions faced by the Assyrian minority at the end of World War I and at the time of the British Mandate over Iraq 1921 - 1932 . Britain Organized the Assyrians into local forces , after the Cairo Conference in 1921 , as an alternative to the withdrawing British army from Iraq. and it manipulated them to achieve military objectives against the national movement represeled by the Kurds movements between the years 1922 – 1931 . During that same period, Britain began in 1926 reducing its forces for economic exigencies and that continued to hold until the 1930 , Britain- Iraqi treaty when the role of those troops as combat units ended and they became guards for British Airports in Iraq . | ||
