| The paper tackles the design of the city of Hilla and its architectural development from its establishment up to the end of the Mongolian era in Iraq. Al-Hilla had witnessed throughout this period noticeable expansion in its administrative institutions and its architecture, not to mention its religious and commercial importance. The study is divided into two parts; the first involves the historical roots of the city and the cause for its name whereas the second studies the design of the city and its architectural development. | ||
