Abstract
This study seeks applying methodology of the spatial analysis of the governmental departments at the city of Mafraq by using geographic information systems technology (GIS), through spatial analysis tools that are available within the software environment of geographic information systems, which is characterized by its ability to spatial analysis data associated with a descriptive analytical database; in order to identify the characteristics of the place, through the study of spatial relationships for the geographical phenomenon, knowing the geographic distribution pattern for the geographical features, and their spreading on the surface of the earth. This study relied on a descriptive analytical approach at digital data processing, through the use of some statistical methods, and graphic and cartographic representation, in order to highlight the spatial characteristics of the governmental departments at the city of Mafraq, as well as statistical analysis software (SPSS). The study concluded that there is a clear disparity in the geographical distribution for the government departments; as most of the government departments were located in the eastern side of the city of Mafraq. The study also showed that the distribution of these departments is random.
