Abstract
The study monitored the levels of noise pollution in Basrah governmental hospitals for this subject of real importance in revealing noise intensity in the main health institutions .A survey has made to follow this phenomena in Basrah governmental hospitals which is six hospitals which is sx hospitals only .Noise have been measured in different positions and activities within the departments of each single hospital . the study observed noise intensity in three times bamely as; morning time ( from 8 a.m to 10 a.m) , afternoon time ( from 12p.m to 2 p.m) and finally evening time ( from 6. P.m to 8 p.m) . the stydy dependeud on sound level meter for measuring voice intensity , its type is of sl-4010 dBA .the study used DB unit and in different readings for elicitation of different percentages of each location . The study reveals the high level of noise intensity in all basra governmental hospitals in all times and all departments , these levels extceeded allowable environmental boundaries for noise intensity in health institutions . the international level was 45 for morning time , 40 DB for afternoon time ,and 35 for evening time , and this is followed in all European ,American , Asian , and Arab countries So, it was of real importance to identify the problem , its reasons and work on stopping the population of this phenomena .
