Abstract
This study included two experiments which conducted to investigate the effect of in ovo injection and early feeding (at hatchery) on gastrointestinal development tract of broiler chickens. The experiments were started by setting 1050 fertile eggs at private commercial hatchery, divided into equal 7 treatments (150 eggs per treatment). On day 18 of incubation each eggs of 7 treatments were injected with 0.3 ml , 1% concentration of different compound into amniotic sac as follows : glucose (treatment 1), ascorbic acid (treatment 2) , lysine (treatment 3) methionine (treatment 4 ) , mixture of glucose , ascorbic acid , lysine and methionine ( treatment 5 ) , sterile distilled water alone ( positive control , treatment 6 ) and negative control without injection ( treatment 7 ) . Eggs were carried back into incubation. Hatched chicks of each treatment were divided into two equal groups. Chicks of first group were fed starter diet at hatchery (early feeding), whereas second group was fed after 6 hours at poultry farm. All birds were reared till 5 days of age were slaughter to study gastrointestinal parts characters at the poultry farm for Research, College of Agriculture, University of Kufa . Results obtained can be summarized as follows: In ovo injection had shown a significant ( P < 0.05 ) increase in lengths of gastrointestinal parts, length of villi and crypt depth of Jejunum that are degraded good indicators for digestive tract development and increase in absorption ability in injected treatments .
