| US relations-Cuban went over a long time period according to accounts associated with the Cold War and the accompanying American - Soviet conflict, where The Republic of Cuba was in the anti-US policy and a friend of the Soviet Union, but the sanctions imposed on it in a special historical circumstance continued after the end of the Cold War for a quarter of a century. This file has remained stuck between US administrations, which saw the continuation of sanctions anentrenchment of its international prestige, while the system of government in Cuba was characterized by stability and continuity throughout that period, under the leadership of Fidel Castro, and then his brother Raul, despite suffering from the rigors of sanctions. | ||
