| Abstract | ||
| Effects of four stocking densities (60, 75, 100 and 125) fish/ m3 of common carp Cyprinus carpio cultivated in floating cages in Shatt Al-Arab River-Hartha on infection results of Spring Viraemia of carp (SVC) disease were studied during spring, 2013. Results showed negative relationship between stocking densities and mortality ratios, where mortality ratios decreased as stocking densities increased. Mortality ratios were (20.02, 27.75, 36.4 and 39.07)% for densities (60, 75, 100, 125) fish/m3 respectively. Statistical analysis for results appeared that there were significant differences between mortality ratios and stocking densities except between stocking densities of 60 and 75 fish/ m3. Field observation showed that more than 99% of fish died without any external symptoms and all fish appeared an active on the surface swimming slowly and never run away during disturbance. | ||
