| Abstract | ||
| Throughout more than four decades the political system in Syria faced attempts to political and economic reform , which was urged by the opposition by adoption of police action authoritarian and not talk with his people had been treated and occurs built by political, administrative and economic , but the regime has sought hiring authority power to suppress the forces that opposes reform and feign various styles and mechanisms to prevent the devolution of power as peacefully resisted external pressures on the grounds that any change or reform+ will lead to the rise of extremist Islamic groups Escalated the standoff between the regime and the opposition at the end of the nineties of the last century about the opposition's demands to cancel some of the practices of the system through the elimination of the state of emergency and the release of political detainees and hold a dialogue on several issues but those attempts failed . After Bashar Assad succeeded his father in 2000, encouraged by the opposition that there is a shift in the policy regime towards its own people , but it was disappointed with the result of the continuity of the system policy not to correct the path of the system in the prosecution of the opposition and restrict public liberties with the absence of political and economic reform . With the escalation of popular protests that swept some Arab countries ruled the Syrian regime erupted in Syria , but this soon turned to it to be triggered first in the capital, Damascus, and extended to the provinces of Syria, another and , despite attempts by the regime to contain the protests , but it turned out after less than two months to an armed conflict between the army founded by dissidents and army knew the free and the regular army . | ||
