| Abstract | ||
| 1,3-Oxazole-5-one compounds (4a - b) have been prepared by cyclization of compound (3) with aromatic aldehydes derivatives. The starting compound (2) were readily obtained by reaction of 2-acetyl salicylic acid with SOCl2 which converted to compound (3) by reaction with glycine . Compounds (4a- b) and (2) were converted into a variety of derivatives. All new compounds were characterized by Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) , Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy | ||
