| Abstract | ||
| The period between 1868 - 1949 of the most important stages in the history of the State of Qatar, being the establishment of the political state landmarks foundation for the country's unity, sovereignty and independence, and just converted from cities and ports for divers and crossings of the tribes of the stage, to the chiefdom like other chiefdoms Gulf Coast Arabian, her mind and to be reckoned with in the one of the most regions of the world a conflict for influence and colonization. Thanks to build a foreign policy of Qatar during that period to three of the elders of the Al Thani family who carried the banner of the establishment of the Qatari state they are all from Sheikh Mohammed bin Thani (1850-1878) founder of the ruling Al-Thani of Qatar, and the founder of the chiefdom of Qatar under the 1868 agreement with the British, Sheikh Qasim bin Mohammed bin Thani (from 1878 to 1913), which is the real founder of the state, being a lay the foundations for the country's foreign policy, especially with the major powers at the time the Gulf region (Britain and the Ottoman Empire), and Sheikh Abdullah bin Qassim Al Thani (1913- 1949), which affirmed Qatar's sovereignty over its territory although the British Protectorate Treaty, and sped off towards modernity, benefiting from oil revenues began to come to him after World war II. The research found a set of facts about the nature of the foreign policy goals of Qatar in the period referred to which, preserving the unity of the country ground, maintaining the Qatari sovereignty in foreign relations, maintaining the economic interests of the country, and required each and every one of these goals a lot of statesmanship, patience the belief in the right of Qatar in its sovereignty over its territory and sovereignty in its foreign relations. | ||
