Abstract
This paper aims to measure the relationship between growth and unemployment in Iraq by using Okun's law. The paper also aims to estimate potential output in order to determine the gap between actual and potential output. The general hypothesis adopted in this paper stated that: the Okun's law does not valid in Iraq economy and reflects the jobless recovery the main finding of this research is that the nature of unemployment was not cyclical but structural and / or frictional one and the market rigidity plays an essential role in creating jobs.
