Abstract
The Iraqi private sector has a long experience, for many decades ,in investment and tourism development, though it swayed between prosperity and deterioration , as it is affected by some challenges and obstacles that weakened its role as a leading sector and active participant in the tourism development. These challenges and obstacles are represented by the political, economic, legal and environmental unsettlement. And here comes the importance of our humble research, in its endeavor to evaluate its true development role in the reality of the Iraqi tourism for the period (2002-2011), through its participation , in the whole or in part, in maximizing the direct economical benefits for the Iraqi economy in general, and the touristic economy in particular, as we concentrate in our study , on the role of touristic private sector, in the increasing and variety of national income resources and the ability to employ people to eliminate unemployment, and to support the Iraqi balance of payments, and to support the government income by financing the state budget, and bring justice in distributing the development projects among the regions, and its efficiency in the using the touristic resources.
