Abstract
This study was conducted at the poultry farm of the college of agriculture, University of Kufa, during the period from 25 October to 3 Novmber-2014,for a period of 5 weeks .Atonal of 180 chicks of Ross308 strain broiler were used and, which distributed randomly to four treatments (45 chicks / treatment ) 3 replicates each treatment with 15 chicks/rep. The chicks were fed on two rations, starter ration for the first 21 days of age and grower ration for the rest 22-35 days of age. The treatments were as follows: (T0) consists of starter diet which contained 40% of the diet yellow corn, however the grower diet contained 40% of the diet yellow corn. (T1): ) consists of replacement of treated sorghum with 1.0% ascorbic acid for the 50% level of the Yellow corn in the diet. (T2) consists of replacement of treated sorghum with 1.0% ascorbic acid for the 75% level of the Yellow corn in the diet.(T3) consists of replacement of treated sorghum with 1.0% ascorbic acid for the 100% level of the Yellow corn in the diet.. The results indicated that there was no significant difference in the rate of in live body weight and weighted average weekly increase feed intake and feed conversion factor and dressing percentage and percentages of qatar carcass and the relative weight of the edible parts of the relative weight of the spleen between treatments.
