| Russia has invested significant efforts in restoring and strengthening its role as a global power. Russia’s permanent membership at the Security Council is actively being used by Russia to maintain such a global role.The study was classified into to three sections: the first section dealt with theposition of UN in Russian foreign policy. The second section dealt withobjectives of Russia's membership in the UN Security Council. While the third section dealt with a case study focusing on the positions of Russian diplomacy in the UN Security Council on the Middle East countries (Iran, Libya, and Syria).
