Abstract
In this research the Flavonoid compound and total chlorophyll in the leaves species of Lathyrus L. genus in Iraq studied , The species which studied were (L. annuus L. , L .aphaca L .., L.cassius Boiss. ,. L .chloranthus Boiss , L. cicera L. , L.gorgoni parL. , L.inconspicuus L. , L.odoratus L. , L.sativus L. ,L. sphaericus Retz L. ,L. vinealis Boiss and...L.aphaca.var.affinis) this study is the one first about theses species of the genus in Iraq .species were have been diagnosed ten compounds belonging to different groups Flavonoid where the Kaempferol recorded the highest concentration in the species L.chloranthus and L.cicera were (0.1 mg / g) the lowest concentration of the compound record in species L.annuus in all species the Comaric compound at high levels compared to the rest of the compound , it has consisted species L.sativus least number of fiavonoid .compound ,chlorophyll content different depending on the species and record the highest rate of total chlorophyll in species L.inconspicuus while the lowest rate recorded in L.vinealis, and are classified into several types groups depending on the genetic convergence through numerical rating the results reflect to the reliability of the flavonoid compound as an important of standards for chemical taxonomy.
