| Abstract This study investigated the measure of emotional intelligence in a sample of workers in the public sector in the province of Basra. And the relationship of emotional intelligence with some variables (such as experience, age, achievement, gender). In addition to trying to find a mathematical function to predict the level of emotional intelligence. The study included a sample of (60) official in the province of Basra Electricity Department for the academic year 2013-2014. The results showed that the sample has an acceptable emotional intelligence level, and the results showed the existence of variation among the sample individuals with regard to the relevance of emotional intelligence in relation with research variables. The mathematical function showed the ability of variables (experience, age, and achievement) to predict the emotional intelligence, while the variable of gender has no impact. | ||
