| The study deals with the ordering of epithets in relation to the indefinite substantives in the Quranic context. Grammarians are divided into three approaches: Sibawayh believed that is possible in Arabic speech, while Ibin Al-Sarraj , supported by Ibin Isfur, believe that is impossible to occur , but only in rare cases or in poetic necessity, whereas Ibin Malik considered that a singular epithet preceding a phrase or a sentence takes place because of predominance . Concurrently, it is found that the view which believes in the impossibility of that case could not withstand the range of meanings conveyed by the Quranic texts .The epithet introduces the verbal sentence for some reasons. 1-the legislator wants to introduce the relationship between Him and the believers to the relationship among the believers themselves , or between them and the disbelievers as seen by His Almighty 's saying " O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers"(Surat Al-Mā'idah , 54). 2- the verbal sentence should precede because its meaning is important rather than any thing else "And this is a Book which We have sent down, blessed and confirming what was before it, 3-And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.(Al'araf,52) | ||
