Abstract
Background: The type of treatment of carcinomaof the breast depends on its stage at presentation. Itsearly detection is important.Objective: Analysis of treated patients forcarcinoma of breast in regards to their stages,considering it as an indicator for patient's presentationand discusses the results in this collection.Methods: A review study of cases treated surgicallyfor the last 10 years by the authors. Their stages wererecorded in addition to their age, gender and type ofhistopathology.Results: A collection of 110 patients was studied.Those in the 5th decade were affected more. Femaleswere 107 and males were only 3. The right breast wasaffected more than the left one. Infiltrative ductalcarcinoma was the commonest type of pathologyfollowed by the lobular carcinoma. Stage 2 was thecommonest stage at time of diagnosis and treatment.Conclusion: In our collection, more than half ofour patients present during stage 2. This is a latepresentation. Earlier detection is necessary. Animportant Program for early detection directed by theauthorities, using the periodic physical examinationand self breast examination and considering the startof mammography screening program for those withage range of (40-60). Programs for educating womenin regards to the risk factors and other informationabout this disease through the internet should beconsidered.Keywords: Breast carcinoma, stage, presentation.
