| Abstract | ||
| The vitality of conscience is regarded as one of the variables that occupies important place among concepts. It represents a degree of organizatton and self'-disciplineand the ability to confront social difficulties and problems where it urge people to achieve their goals carefully and accurately. The present research aims at achieving the following:- 1 -Measuring the conscience vitality of the university students. 2-nowing the differences in conscience vitality according to gender (male/female) and specialization (humanity/scientific. 3-Measuring the social confrontation of the university students. 4-Knowing the differences in social confrontation according to gender (male/female) and speciahzation (humanity/scientific. 5-Knowing the nature of the relation between the vitality of conscience and social confrontation. In the light of the afore-mentioned goals, the following has been made:- 1 - Using the scale of (Abid /2013) for measuring vitality of conscience. 2 - Using the scale of (Al-Karaghooli,/2011 ) for measuring social confrontation. The vaiidity of both scales has been found by using face validity where the sarnple consists of (200) female and male students from the University of Al-Mustansiriah/ college of education/ fourlh classes/ morning studies in the academic year (2013-2014) from three humanitarian departments and three scientific departments distributed equally according to specialization,r. e., (100) students for each specialization, (50) males and (50) females. The appropriate statistical means have been used, namely, T-test for one sample, T-test for two samples, Pearson coefficient, the mean, and the standard deviation. The following results have been arrived at:- 1 - The sample of the research has characterized by vitality of conscience. 2- There are no statistically significant differences in the vitality of conscience in terms of gender and specialization. 3- The students of the sample have characterized by social confrontation. 4- There are no statistically significant differences in social confrontation in terms of gender and speciali zation. 5- There is a statistically significant relation between the scores of conscience vitality and social confrontation of university students. In the light of the previous results, the researchers have put forward a number of recommendations and suggestions. | ||
