| Abstract | ||
| The current research aims to identify: 1. The effectiveness of Adey&Shayer model in the achievement of mathematics of the second-grade intermediate students. 2. The effectiveness of Adey&Shayer model in the lateral thinking of the second-grade intermediate students. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher formulated the following two-zero hypotheses: 1. " There is no difference statistically significant at the level (0.05) between the mean degrees of the experimental group students (who are studying by using Adey&shayer model) and degrees of control group students (who are studying by using the traditional method) in the achievement test." 2. " There is no difference statistically significant at the level (0.05) between the mean degrees of the experimental group students (who are studying by using Adey&shayer model) and degrees of control group students (who are studying by using the traditional way) in test of lateral thinking." The research community was consisted of second-grade intermediate students in Maysan province where the researcher applied the experiment. The researcher had chosen Rasheed AlHijari Intermediate School for Boys randomly and in which there are two divisions of the second grade intermediate students. They were distributed into two groups; the first is experimental and the other is control. He had conducted equivalence between the two groups (experimental and control) to control some of the variables that are related to research variables by using T-test for two independent samples. These are variables (chronological age in months, the overall rate, the former achievement in mathematics, intelligence, and the education level of parents.( The researcher prepared two types of teaching plans. The first one is for the control group according to (the traditional way) and the second is for the experimental group that studied according to Adey&shayer model. The researcher prepared two tools to the research. The first represents the achievement test in mathematics for second-grade intermediate. It was consisted of (20) multiple-choice items. The second tool is a test of lateral thinking, which was consisted of (20) items, which include items requiring unconventional solutions or to non-stereotyped thinking. The search results there are a difference statistically significant at the level of significance (0.05) in favor of group students who are studying according to a Adey&shayer model in the achievement and the lateral thinking. At the end of the search, the researcher formulated a number of conclusions and recommendations proposals. | ||
