| Abstract | ||
| ABSTRACT Research about human settlement is usually classified as modern geographical research. Such research, generally, aims at relating the natural characteristics of the terrain to the selection of regions for human settlements in accordance with their functional activities. The study purports to find out the available potentialities for development and settlement in the teeb area. it is also attempt to gain an insight into the elements that may impede the development of the area Under study. This knowledge may enable the researcher to draw plans to define the future aspects of the area under study according to three stages. Firstly, to choose settlement centers and to supply them with essential services such as potable drinking water, electricity, healthcare, and education. Secondly, to draw plans to tackle the factors 15 that may hinder development and settlement such as the shortage of water in order to propose solutions for them. Thirdly, to put preliminary plans for the development of such sectors as agriculture, industry, tourism, and recreation and to create employment opportunities that may assist in developing settlement centers for such sectors. | ||
