| Abstract | ||
| The research addressed studying the topic of over Population Phenomenon in Baghdad City and the spatial distribution of this Phenomenon. Its important aims were identifying the size of housing deficit, the actual need for housing units and stating the number of houses actually occupied by the population. The study also shows there is no allocation of spaces for residential use that are proportional to the size of the population who can be accommodated according to the considerations of the area of the residential plot to be determined, the size of the family who should occupy the dwelling. Through the research field study, the residential areas and their population densities were identified, which was an indicator that the housing units were of numbers differ from one neighborhood to another according to the location of the residential neighborhood and the social, economic and professional level of its inhabitants, which had an impact on dividing the area of the residential plot. The land areas allocated for residential use are (610 Km2), forming about (71%) of the total areas of Baghdad city which is (860 Km2) and this shows that Baghdad city is residential due to the high percentage of the residential use in it. | ||
