| Abstract This paper deals with the thematic contents related to Al taf battle or battle of Karbala as filed in English language on YouTube for the purpose of identifying the types of contents, representation patterns, and its sources within the environment of user generated content (UGC), as well as identifying user trends in using or generating related videos of the battle. 100 video clip were analyzed as chosen through five keywords reflecting the content of the study and in accordance with two standards: number of views and preferences which both are offered by the You Tube site. The study used the analysis tool tubekit on the Firefox browser, which provides the possibility of collecting the elements of each video and statistics related to it, whereas the first 20 result Search for each keyword were selected as a research sample. As for the unit of analysis it was based on the subject of the video and the prevailing idea that represents its content. The study found that the topics that related to the review of events of the battle had the more frequency of content on YouTube, and that this category also came as the most frequent category of the categories of form presentation. | ||
