Abstract
The research aims to identify the effect of cognitive maps in the development of scientific thinking among second grade students in the average geographical material and hammer out the aim of the research chose researcher Qsidia research sample was a researcher in his use of the following statistical methods:- 1- Altaia test (T-test) for one sample. 2- Mean. 3- Pearson correlation coefficient. 4- Chi square. He then select the subject matter contained geographical book scheduled topics taught to students of the second grade average, the researcher prepare a model plan for the topics to be taught in the experiment as a way of teaching cognitive maps and by the way educational poster (Illustration scheme) as it has been testing the experts and specialists display to see the sincerity and suitability . Where the researcher taught the art itself was a researcher pretest at the beginning of the experiment dish, was re-test at the end of the experiment, which lasted three months after the application method of cognitive maps on the sample The researcher prepare a posttest to learn about the academic achievement of the students of the research group (experimental) for knowledge the impact of the method of cognitive maps on student achievement. And to investigate the validity of the hypothesis, the researcher at the conclusion of the experiment to the following: there is no difference statistically significant at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group to test the tribal and the average grades the same research group post-test in accordance with the method of cognitive maps and based on that in the light of the result in the above came out Researcher number of conclusions, including:- 1- The use of cognitive maps lead to an increase in the student activity and their knowledge of the activities of intellectual substance geographical direction. 2- The use of cognitive maps in effect creating an interactive atmosphere between students in the acquisition of geographical knowledge among middle school students. 3- The teaching by cognitive maps led to rely on themselves after God Almighty in the research and investigation on geographic information and raise the level of achievement for students in the geographical material. In light of the findings of the current study, the results of the researcher recommends the following:- 1- The need to focus on the use of cognitive maps to get positive results in the teaching of geography material for students in middle school. 2- The method of introducing the teaching of cognitive maps within the scheduled teaching for students of middle school. 3- emphasis on taking innocent teacher geographical material in the preparation of workshops, especially in the secondary schools and courses allow students to participate in the preparation of various teaching aids by the Ministry of Education, under the supervision of teachers article .
