| Abstract The legacy of colonialism which was imposed on Iraq for more than four centuries had left a unified design of markets for jewelers, butchers, fabric sellers, utensils makers, grocers, tanners and book shoppers. This design can be obviously found in Baghdad, but in the other states or districts the design is almost the same with the exception of the books market or bookshops especially in Karbala as it did not have a specific market for books and bookshops. The lack of such market and the scattered libraries in the old city all over the history of Iraq makes it difficult to keep track of the book and monitor who deals with it and who has interest in culture as well. | ||
