| Abstract Football as a sport game is characterized by high psychological pressure which might affect the skillful performance of the player and consequently on the result of the game. Therefore, the trainers had to plan earlier to maintain the psychological skills of the players besides preparing them physically. The importance of the recent study rises from this to identify the relation between the psychological skills and the skillful performance of the football players to improve the points of weakness and develop points of strength. This helps us to indicate the important side of the psychological ones that supports the efforts of the coaches and those responsible of training to uplift the level of the players. The problem of the research lies in the researcher's observation that most of the players suffer from weak care of activating the psychological skills and consequently affecting on the skillful performance of the players. This study aims at identifying the relation between psychological skills and the skillful performance Diyala sport club football players. The researcher used the descriptive approach with connective style. The sample of the study includes 16 football players from Diyala sport club. The researcher used a measurement of psychological skills and a testing paper to measure the skillful performance. After getting the information and dealing with them statistically spss, the researcher concluded a number of points namely: there is a moral relation between psychological skills and the skillful performance of Diyala sport club football players. The researcher suggested that it is necessary for those who are responsible to develop the psychological skills of football players through hiring a psychological expert. | ||
