Abstract
This study deals with a topic related to the role and importance of information national planning in the national development in Algeria through the valorisation of the role of information which is the essential pillar for planning in scientific and technological development, in promoting education and scientific research by providing the sufficient extent of scientific and technical information for students and researchers, and by managing crises and taking decisions because the latter cannot be successful without the provision of the necessary, the sound and the exact information for that sake, in addition to showing the importance of information in economic development in all sides (political, social, informational, …etc). To treat this subject, we led a survey upon a sample of Algerian university teachers specialized in library and information science.
