| Abstract | ||
| This study aimed to investigate the general characteristics of Mental Health among the homosexual males in the city of Omdurman, and the differences among the members of the experimental group in the pre and post scales of the collective counseling program used. In addition to investigating the differences in some variables (age, duration of homosexuality, marital status). The researcher used the experimental method. The sample of the study consisted of (51) homosexual males whose age ranged between (18 - 46 years), and they have been selected by simple random sampling. The researcher used the Mental Health Scale and collective counseling program. The collected data were analyzed using the (T) test for one sample, (T) test for two independent samples, and Analysis of Variance (Anova). The study found a range of results, including: the mental health of the homosexual males in Omdurman could be described as low. The collective counseling program was found to be effective in improving the mental health of homosexual males. There were no statistically significant differences among homosexual males due to age and duration of homosexuality in regard with effectiveness the program used, while there are differences due to the variable of marital status in favor of married men. In light of the results of the study, the researcher provided some recommendations, including: giving care to the mental health of the homosexual males by helping them to achieve personal, psychological and social adjustment, and Providing guidance and educational programs for homosexuals in order to guide them on how to deal with problems and mental disorders they face | ||
