Abstract
Field experiment was conducted during autumn 2015 in Al-wataifia region/ Greater Musaib Project/Babylon Provence on Loamy soil to study the effect of foliar application of 4 levels of potassium fertilizer (0 , 1000 , 2000 , and 4000 mg K L-1) , and 4 levels of Zinc fertilizer ( 0 , 30 , 60 , and 90 mg Zn L-1) and interaction among yield and quality parameters of maize (Zea mays L.) variety (bohuth 106 ). Factorial experiment was studied in RCBD with three replicates and the means were compared according to LSD test at the significance level used was 0.05. Results showed Significant differences between K level treatments , the treatment (4000mg K L-1) significantly increased the average value of number of row per ear , number of grain per ear , weight of 500 grain, plant grain yield , total grain yield , protein and oil percent seed content with increasing percentage ( 10.34 , 35.11 , 24.81 , 22.30 , 22.43 , 23.69 , and 32.16 % respectively) compare with control treatment . Zinc treatment ( 90 mg Zn L-1) increased significantly a above parameter with increasing percentage ( 10.21 , 50.29 , 20.85 , 49.20 , 49.20 , 35.95 and 40.05%) , respectively compared to control treatment. However, The results also show that the combination treatment (4000 mg K L -1 + 90 mg Zn L -1) gave higher average value which was 17.38 rows , 708 grain, 135.48 g , 176.4 g , 11.76 tonh-1 , 12.89% , and 6.78% respectively to parameters above.
