| Abstract | ||
| This research Seeks to focus on the importance of diversification as a main pillar for achieving developmental sustainability, finding quantitative measurement, and explaining the challenges and risks in the economy of Iraq. This research concludes that the profound weakness in diversification is the main cause for the poor sustainability in development and growth. This profound weakness in diversification is a result of the continuous dependence on oil revenues to meet consumption needs which led to a sharp declining in the financial resources required to meet the investing needs, finally, the diversification of Iraq economy can be viewed as a potential resource to finance the development, and to make structural changes in it.
