| Abstract | ||
| The beginning of Qatari-French economical relationships dates back to 1971, as Qatar obtained its independence and extricated out of British protection. It followed a new foreign policy that is in its interest. Since Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani assumed his position as a ruler of Qatar in 1972, a new stage of a more organized economic relationship with France. The Qatari government managed to strengthen its relationship with the French government and built distinguished economical relationships. The first positive move of these relations was reflected in economical-financial agreement which was concluded between the two sides in Dec. 16th, 1974. The mutual visits between them had their impact to promote better economic relations and the subsequent to construct solid bases for positive cooperation between the two countries in all areas. | ||
