| Abstract Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. The comparative literature and the methodology of the comparative study have some important sciences that have been revealed in the literary works written by other nations about Karbala. The researcher tries to stand at the most important points of this methodology to prove how large the areas occupied by Karbala were in the various forms of Persian and Urdu literature. The researcher aims to achieve this purpose by an introduction and two sections. The introduction explains the definition of the above mentioned types of poetry, and then gives a brief summary to prepare for the study in a spatial dimension. The first section is devoted to study the image of Karbala in the Persian poetry, whereas the second section introduces the image of Karbala in the Urdu poetry. The researcher draws up some conclusions by summarizing the most important results of this research. | ||
