Abstract
The city of Karbala is characterized by its beauty, attractive nature and Islamic remarkable arts. It has become one of the most important Islamic cities for its distinguished cultural and religious heritage. The most prominent of these are the two holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussein and Imam Al-Abbas. Their buildings still occupy a distinguished position and of great interest among other Islamic cities. The building of the holy shrines is part of the global human cultural heritage, one of the most beautiful timeless monuments in the history of human civilization, inspired by the characteristics of the spirit of Islam and its tolerant teachings and inspired by its values and ideals. The religious ceremonies play an important role for visiting these shrines. The Iranian families and communities are the largest foreign families that lived in Karbala, and had a large and clear role in public life in business and economy. They were the owners of a lot of estates in the city as they owned the various properties and also had a role in the construction and establishment of a number of Mosques and religious schools. They also played a prominent role in the building of the holy shrines and the monitoring of the funds. The city of Karbala witnessed tangible progress in terms of planning, design, construction, arts and decoration of all kinds. These characteristics have been dealt with by the Muslim historians as well as ruling families, specifically the Iranian families that are the subjects of this research. This research includes an introduction, four sections and a conclusion. The first section focuses on the importance of the city of Karbala for the Iranians during the Safawi and Afchary eras. The second section was dedicated to the study of the Qajari family and its effect on the public life of Karbala. The third section focuses on the issue of the stability of the Iranian families and their works. The fourth section sheds light on how Karbala has attracted the Iranian visitors to Karbala and their burial ceremonies there. The researcher hopes to succeed in accomplishing this modest effort and God is behind the intention.
