Abstract
Abstract The Qura'nic story is characterized by the beauty of selecting the story event; beauty of formulation and strength of effect on the addressee. The Holy Qura'n has openly stated that "We relate unto you the best of stories". Depending on this, researchers have shown interest in studying these stories to shed lights on their aesthetic structure. This research studies the story as a narrative discourse that involves the bases of the art of narration. The study includes four narration components, they are: the event, the character, time and place. The first component deals with the patterns of event structure. The second component, however, deals with the patterns of building the fictional characters and the ways through which they are introduced. Component three treats the structure of narration time which falls into three levels: level one is devoted for time irony, level two sheds light on technicalities of speeding and slowing time, level three studies time sequencing. The fourth component studies narration place as it is related to the event and the character.
