Abstract
Abstract: The trends in the demand for foreign currencies are important topics for this purpose,the aim of the research is to indicate the request of the central Bank of Iraq on foreign currencies, as well as the demand of individuals and institutions to finance the financing of its trade through the auction of foreign currency, as the process of buying and selling foreign currency to the means to search for measures aimed at stabilizing the exchange rates of the local currency against foreign currencies and reached the conclusion that the most important is the increase in the demand for foreign currency by the Central Bank through increased demand for reserves of gold Tthis is evident that the Central Bank uses gold as a safe haven and cover for local currency, and recommended that the study is the most appropriate approach to correct the imbalance of payments and that it is in line with current trends in economic relations.
