| Abstract | ||
| Information institutions, especially university libraries, are faced with the imperative of dealing with big data that has emerged as a result of the increasing use of different information technology in libraries. Thus, Sultan Qaboos University libraries are concerned with dealing with big data in many activities; the acquisition of various sources, and subscriptions to databases on the Internet, and statistical analysis of data used, and tools to manage research data, and uses of social media and others. Against this background, this study sought to measure and assesses the current potential of big data available and their use and difficulties from the perspective of its employees, and the role of managers as a mediator variable in in the use of big data to improve the level of services. | ||
