| : The one-step reaction of phthalimide with benzylidene benzeneamine in dry benzene gave 2-Ar-3-Ar'[1,2-e][1,3]benzodiazepine-4,7-diones in good yields.The products were characterized by their melting points and IR and UVspectra. | ||
