Abstract
The present study aims at knowing the social cognition of Al Israa University College students who practice or who do not practice physical fitness. It assumes that since these students belong to a private sector college, their social cognition and intelligence differ from that of the state college students. This difference is based on the well established status of the state colleges and on the outlooks of the researchers in availing Al Israa students with proper atmosphere for communication through social cognition. Accordingly, a descriptive program was chosen which relies on a survey that works as a tool to solve the problem of the study.A specimen of 175 students were randomly selected in addition to using other procedures related to measuring social cognition. Some items of this measurement were amended to maintain validity, objectivity and stability in addition to the cognitive power, internal conformity and Korbach coefficient to access the social cognition measurement. Afterwards, the pioneering experiment was implemented. After ascertaining of the applicability of the measurement, it was distributed on the specimen. Then the results obtained were statistically treated, to let the researchers conclude the following : • College students practicing physical fitness are more characterized by social cognition as they are urged by their profession.•Non-practicing students reveal an ability of dealing with others through dialogue as the teaching process has a direct impact on their personalities.The researchers recommend to expand the study scope to include more number of students in order to understand the social cognition on a larger scale. A future study of the effect of physical fitness on the science and humanitarian sections is therefore suggested.
