Abstract
The palm of the oldest trees known to the land of Mesopotamia and contribute palm products of dates as part of the national income has declined the number of palm trees in Iraq to less than half over the last three decades, due to wars and the rising cost of Palm and the worsening of the emergence of a number of pests that endure and are the scourge of the insect Aldobas Ommatissus tybicus of the most important pests that attack the palm and cause severe damage to the palm and spread of this pest in Diyala province and seeks extension to the dissemination of knowledge useful and expertise to farmers to improve their social and Aloqsada In this research, which targeted the knowledge level of knowledge to farmers to the symptoms of pest insect Dubas palm and methods of control and prevention in terms of words for this purpose were taken a random sample of farmers amounted to (200) Farms and shown by the results of this research, levels are low and medium knowledge Almzairin where there was a proportion (30.5%) of those with knowledge of the low and the proportion (60%) of those with knowledge medium, and a small percentage of people with high knowledge was (5.9%) emerged as the search results that there is a correlation between the level of knowledge of farmers and all of the following variables (educational level, age, type of tenure), where the total value of the correlation coefficient Speer Man (0140, 0.156, 0.147) level of significance (0.01) and recommend research the need to design and implement guidelines on how farmers' knowledge of symptoms of pest infestation insect Dubas palm and methods of control and attention to the education of farmers and sensitize them using different methods and extension methods to identify the farmers of the dangers of this scourge and the use of biological control to increase their output and raise their standard of living in all areas and agricultural progress.
