Abstract
Objectives: Knowing the demographic characteristics of the workforce, clarifying the effects and their distribution according to the statistical standards that are followed, and highlighting their productive activity. Revealing the phenomenon of unemployment among the labor force and explaining the extent of its impact and impact on agricultural activity. Paying attention to the labor force and the problems facing this labor force in agricultural activity because it is the basis for production and increasing it. Method: The research relied on the regional, analytical and descriptive approach and the adoption of quantitative methods and modern geographical techniques in analysis and production of maps. Results: The study showed that the increase in the number of workers in agriculture came as a result of inheriting agricultural lands and working on them from forefathers. In addition, the fertility of the soil and the large areas provide many job opportunities for young people, in addition to the availability of modern methods and techniques in agriculture. The year 2021 is a year full of agricultural activities in order to increase the quality and quantity of the crop. The Jazira Division, in cooperation with the United Nations (UNDP), established a center to train male and female farmers to use modern methods in agriculture. Conclusion: The percentage of the unemployed in agriculture increased in the first and second categories due to the development that occurred in agricultural techniques and methods and the use of modern mechanization, which made the percentage of the unemployed large. As for the third category, the percentage of unemployed people decreased due to their small numbers in those provinces, in addition to their practice of government jobs that provide them with sufficient economic returns for their livelihood. Recommendations: The study recommended several things, including establishing workforce training and qualification centers in the Ramadi district’s countryside, by preparing the necessary advanced and qualified workforce to achieve the best exploitation of development potential while achieving productive efficiency for projects in the agricultural sector. Working to achieve a balance in distributing the workforce spatially and sectorally, in a way that is consistent with the requirements of achieving spatial development within the rural districts of Ramadi District.
