Abstract
The concern for the environment and sustainable development has become one of the issues that occupy the world, as Iraq has witnessed, as is the rest of the world, many transformations in all fields and at various political, social, cultural levels ... and others, which had a great impact on the environment, which contributed to the depletion of resources and the increase in severity Pollution, which prompted the state to protect the environment in a preventive manner before environmental damage occurred. Administrative control in particular with its multiple powers is one of the most important means of law in protecting the environment, and that the issue of achieving sustainable development within the framework of administrative law is almost non-existent or very limited compared to other branches of law that It has a great role in reducing the problems of environmental pollution, which threatens life on Earth in its present and future, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the weakness of the legal treatment of it due to the laxity of the competent administrative control authorities in implementing and activating the provisions of environmental legislation, and the lack of necessary means and capabilities and their weakness in achieving what is required The idea of sustainable development .
