| Abstract | ||
| Abstract In this study the influence of preaging on the mechanical properties of heat treatable body sheet Al alloy ( 6063 ) was used in new automobile designs . It was evaluated with a view to establishing its role on the strengthening characteristics . The results showed a considerable improvement in yield , tensile strength and hardness with an increasing level of strain ( increasing the density of dislocation tangles ) . This was achieved with out using preaging which is apply in usual operation of auto body parts , so this investigation show that the body sheet must be used in an under aged condition. | ||
