Abstract
This study aims to reveal the efforts of the Umayyad state in establishing water supply facilities in the Shamm, particularly during the rule of the Marwanid dynasty, and to highlight its variety, function and the variety of its construction method, which indicates a clear engineering genius that transcends the previous architectural style, and was established in the Shamm based on the environmental and geographical characteristics of the area, and by tracing the various original sources and recent archaeological excavations, in order to meet the daily needs and irrigate agricultural lands, and it appeared how the state made great efforts to protect such installations, and how management methods evolved and used them to protect their privacy, and such projects must have an impact on the life of the population and its impact on all aspects of life can be determined through the results of this study, water projects were also distinguished by their differences in type, function, and construction method. The Umayyad's used the optimal method that suits the environmental nature and accommodates previous construction methods, through an Islamic perspective. The construction materials used were sensitive to the specificity of the local environment. The Umayyad state made great efforts to preserve Water projects to meet daily needs and water agricultural fields
