| Abstract | ||
| Armed mixed conflicts in international humanitarian law constitute an important field of study and research, requiring international efforts to enhance legal and humanitarian protection for civilians and protected persons in these conflicts. Armed mixed conflicts are a growing phenomenon in the modern era, posing new challenges to the application of international humanitarian law. In these conflicts, both governmental and non-governmental parties participate in hostilities, making it difficult to determine the applicable legal rules and ensure parties' compliance with international humanitarian law. Research on armed mixed conflicts and the role of humanitarian law in them has led to several findings, the most important of which is that the principles applied to armed mixed conflicts are based on the traditional principles of international humanitarian law, as well as the principles of international humanitarian law applied to non-international armed conflicts. However, the principles applied to armed mixed conflicts face some challenges, such as the difficulty of identifying the parties involved in the conflict and ensuring the compliance of non-governmental parties with international humanitarian law. | ||
