| Abstract | ||
| The description is one of the poetic purposes in which the poets of the medieval era excelled, especially Ibn Zilaq al-Mawsili, who formed this purpose in his poetry as an artistic feature that distinguished him on both the objective and artistic levels together. The research was based on an introduction and two sections. The topic included defining the concept of poetic description. The first topic was devoted to studying description trends in terms of textual description, physical description, and emotional description. The second topic included the study of the types of description in terms of taxonomic description, expressive description, simple description, complex description, subjective description, and objective description. The research relied on an analytical study of the descriptive texts in the poetry of Ibn Zaylaq Al-Mawsili in order to clarify the objective and artistic values and derive the implications that resulted from them | ||
