Abstract
Protests have erupted in a number of Arab countries since 2011, and have led to horrific effects and results on their peoples, but their effects have varied according to the nature of each country, geopolitical factors, alliances and foreign interventions according to the interests, goals and positions adopted by each party. Syria is one of the most affected Arab countries by the protests that have developed and complicated to become a battlefield in which there are multiple fronts and parties, and conflicts between different groups, as the twelve – first century because of its effects and the destruction it caused. The conflict has led to the migration of nearly half of Syria's population, the collapse of its economy and dozens of deaths. The research problem lies in the occurrence of an internal conflict in Syria, what is the nature of the threats it has been exposed to, and what are the parties involved in the conflict. The research assumes that Syria has been exposed to an asymmetric war, due to its nature and the multiplicity of parties involved in it. The analytical-systematic approach and the descriptive approach were relied upon in studying the Syrian case.
