Abstract
Although ionizing radiation has great benefits in various aspects of life, it is not devoid of negative effects due to the serious diseases it causes. The worker is considered the first to be exposed to it due to his work and proximity to the radiation source. The effect of ionizing radiation does not stop only on the worker, but its harmful effect extends to his descendants, Therefore, it is necessary to provide protection for workers in the event that they are exposed to danger due to radiation, which is what the Social Security Law works to provide by providing compensation in kind and material in the event that the worker is exposed to illness or occupational injury as a result of working in a radiation work environment. The problem of the research lies in protecting the worker from the effects of ionizing radiation and the harms that result from the worker's exposure to it, as radioactive pollution is considered one of the most dangerous types of pollution, as it cannot be seen, smelled or felt. It enters the body without warning and without leaving any trace at first. The damage reaches its peak if the radiation penetrates the worker's genetic material. In this case, the damage is not limited to the worker only, but extends to his offspring, leading to birth defects.
