| Abstract | ||
| In COVID-19, there is a hyper-inflammatory immune response evoked by cells, such as neutrophils, monocytes, and includes release of various cytokines. Bronchoconstriction is one of the complications postcovid19 infection mediated by components of hypersensitivity like total E (IgE) and specific IgE . Aim of the study: To reveal the effect of some factors on some blood cells and some immune factors in patients post COVID-19 infection. The study included 163 of adult convalescent COVID-19 patients from both genders who complaining bronchial spasm and 75 healthy participants as control. Patients were attending Ramadi and Fallujah Teaching Hospitals, Anbar Province,Iraq during the period from September 2022 to May 2023. Complete cell blood count (CBC), anti-COVID-19 virus IgM, IgG, as well as IL-5,Total IgE and IgE specific for COVID-19 antigen were done for each individual of the study. Gender, severity, history of vaccination and smoking were reported. Data were analyzed to reveal the effect of these factors on serological parameters. Patients with severe COVID-19 infection were showing higher basophil counts, total IgE, Specific IgE. and IL5 than patients with mild infections and control . None significant differences were found between the two genders in all the studied serological parameters. The same observation was found between smoker and none smoker individuals. Vaccination has no effect on studied parameters except IgG. Patients with severe COVID-19 infection were showing higher total IgE, Specific IgE. and IL5. There is no gender variation in values of studied serological parameters. Vaccination has no effect on studied parameters except IgG. | ||
