Abstract
The research aims to know the effect of "draw your thoughts" strategy on geographical understanding among fifth grade primary students. For the purpose of verifying the research objective, a null hypothesis was formulated, and the two researcher used the experimental approach with two equal groups. The research community consisted of fifth-grade primary school students in public primary schools for boys in the Telkaif district. For the academic year (2023 - 2024), the research sample included (66) students who were randomly distributed into two groups, one of which was experimental and numbered (32) students who studied according to "draw your thoughts" strategy, and the other was a control group and numbered (34) students who studied according to the usual method, and the parity process was carried out. Between the two research groups in the variables: chronological age calculated in months, the students’ grades in the social studies subject, the general average of the fourth grade of primary school, and the intelligence test scores. To achieve the goal of the research, the two researcher prepared a geographical understanding test tool consisting in its final form of (30) items, and it was confirmed. The tool was validated by presenting it to a group of experts and arbitrators. Reliability was calculated using the “Kuder-Richardson-20” equation, and the reliability value reached (0.84). The two researcher used statistical methods, including: the t-test for two independent samples, the paragraph discrimination equation, the paragraph difficulty equation, and the reliability equation.
